"Youths jump over a fire during the Ivana Kupala festival near the town of Orsha, some 200 km (125 miles) east of Minsk, June 23, 2009. The ancient tradition, originating from pagan times, is usually marked with grand overnight festivities. During the Ivana Kupala night people jump over burning campfires and bathe in a lake or a river, as they believe it will purge them of their sins and make them healthier."
