"Hireright gave false information on my husband. They said he committed a felony in a state that he had never been to. They determined this because his name and birthdate matched someone else's-he has a very common name. They don't use the social security number or any other means of identification. He called them to dispute this and they said he had to send COPIES of his birth certificate and social security number. They already have his social security number so why do they need COPIES of this very personal information. The company he was applying at now will no longer hire him because of this. Yes he was told by the manager he had the job just had to wait on the background investigation which came back horrible. Don't know what to do now. This has caused so much stress to my family. Any legal advice would be greatly appreciated. Hireright needs to be investigated. It's just not right for hireright to be able to give false information and have no repercussions against them."
