"In the last two weeks, America has been subjected to jackals masquerading as journalists, with an idiot sheriff tossed into the mix for comic relief. From the very beginning, these people quickly revealed that getting the story right--as in Ms. Giffords had been wounded, not killed---didn't matter an iota. And that was the high point of this sordid episode. The slide into the deeper recesses of the media sewer continues without regard to facts or decency, with the so-called "paper of record," aka the New York Times, leading the charge."
