"The gunfire exchange between men from the 5th Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland (5 Scots) and the Taliban only lasted a short while before the insurgents fled.
As well as taking on the Taliban, the footage shows the soldiers walking through fields and across streams, avoiding the obvious routes which are scattered with booby traps.
The footage comes just a day after Barack Obama announced "significant progress" on the war in Afghanistan."
