Just Asking

"Is our health care future already here? According to the Florida's Sun-Sentinel, health officials in that state "are drawing up guidelines that recommend barring patients with incurable cancer, end-stage multiple sclerosis and other conditions from being admitted to hospitals if the state is overwhelmed by flu cases." The plan also "calls for doctors to remove patients with poor prognoses from ventilators to treat those who have better chances of surviving." Webster's definition of "triage:" the sorting of and allocation of treatment to patients and especially battle and disaster victims according to a system of priorities designed to maximize the number of survivors. The only relevant "battle" occurring is the one for the nation's soul, in order to mitigate the "disaster" of a Democratic party."
