In History....

* 1789, there was a mutiny on HMS Bounty as the crew of the British ship
set Capt. William Bligh and 18 sailors adrift in a launch in
the South Pacific

* 1939, Powell Crosley produces America's first miniature or "bantam"
car. The Crosley was a foot shorter and 100 pounds lighter
than the pre-war Volkswagen Bug, and far smaller than anything
manufactured by American companies. At a $800 sticker price, Crosley was
unable to convince consumers to purchase a miniature car when they could
buy a full-size car for a few hundred dollars more. He was soon out of
business.

* 1945, Italian dictator Benito Mussolini and his mistress, Clara
Petacci, were executed by Italian partisans as they attempted to flee
the country
